Manager Chat: New things happening for Kvosin

Good afternoon dear guests, current, former and future!

I´ve been hotel manager at Kvosin for all of 6 weeks and it´s been a fun ride so far. I am excited and I hope you are all happy when staying with us here in the heart of our wonderful city. Although I took over a steady ship heading in the right direction, there are always some things that new eyes see and for the first week of my "reign" I have been working towards some of these things. Here are some of the new things happening at Kvosin Downtown Hotel and I hope you agree that they improve the overall experience of being one of our valued guests:

1. The bar is opening soon! It´s been a long 6 months since the Winebar closed and we are glad to tell you that the new bar will open early in December under the name Klaustur Bar. Klaustur will be a great little place to drop by for a handpicked bottle or glass of wine as well as delicious Icelandic Einstök Craft Brews on draught. Trust me, we´ve been wine tasting every week and there are some outstanding drinks going to be served at the bar.

2. We have 24/7 Live Chat! One of my favorite things about having a guest service team working 24 hours a day is the fact that we can give service to guests every minute of that time. International calls are expensive, the line can be bad and e-mails can take time to answer, so now you have a new option while you are checking your Facebook wall or watching a show on your phone, mobile or tablet. You can simply have us answer your questions 24/7 before, during and after your stay via the Live Chat! I hope you will find it useful. In fact, I know you will.

3. Tours, car rentals and restaurant reservations. Now we have a system to book all this for you in one place. This place! Just yesterday we implemented a system at the Kvosin Concierge Desk that gives us up to the minute live availability at all of Reykjavik´s hottest restaurants so we do not need to wait for busy servers to answer the phone to find out if we can get you a table. You will also be able to book yourselves from your rooms or home with a special Kvosin page for that. This will be up and running by next week. Exciting, I know!

4. We are not just on Facebook and Twitter anymore! In these 6 weeks, I have added Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr and YouTube accounts to our social media reach, so you should be able to enjoy the hotel on multiple levels, even when you are not inside it.

I think I´ll leave it at that for now. Gotta save some news for next week. This weekend is the annual Iceland Airwaves festival in town so we are having an earful of up and coming and established locan and international indie bands all over town and seemingly in every corner of every store, restaurant and museum.
