Excursion Curator:   Kristján Jónsson

 

Kristján Jónsson is a veteran mountaineer and a professional guide for almost 20 years. His first years of guiding were primarily in the highlands of Iceland, hiking, climbing and living the good life in a tent!

Kristján is also a professional artist dividing his time between the outdoors and his studio. Kristján has a good knowledge of the greater picture of Iceland´s geology, culture and history. His guiding work today is equally divided between working as a private guide on exclusive tours as well as taking guests for short or extended adventure trekking. Kristján has also worked as chief scout for some major film productions.

 

Most importantly, he is the owner of Iceland Discovery: "We tailor make your tour the way you want to see the country. There are so many things to experience and we want to help you pick and choose what to do but the key is to start the conversation.  We only offer our tailor-made private tours in the most comfortable jeeps available. And we will take you to the most interesting places. We use super-jeeps for the fun of it and also of course to get to the top of that darn Eyjafjallajökull"
